Although “istagosthi” and “satsang” are conceptually similar, “satsang” goes straight to the heart of the matter. Derived from the Sanskrit, “sat” means “real honesty,” and “sanga” refers to a special kind of attachment. Thus, satsang is about coming together to support each other’s commitment to truth and to nurture our attachment to becoming the most authentic versions of ourselves. It’s about how we can approach this journey in a healthy, joyful (not neurotic) and celebratory way. This process has no limit; it’s a progressive, dynamic unfolding.
Unlike a typical Question and Answer session, where certainty is often the goal and answers are something we can pocket and carry with us, satsang is not about finding definitive answers. Instead, it invites us into open exploration, allowing space for discovery rather than finality. And while the setting may appear as teacher and student, as you will witness when participating, we are all fellow explorers, sharing in this journey to discover and embody our truest selves.

Swami Padmanabha is a monk, theologian, author, and global speaker in the Gaudiya Vaishnava bhakti tradition whose work bridges classical devotion with contemporary thought. Writing and teaching fluently in English and Spanish, he is widely recognized for articulating a spiritually grounded yet forward-thinking theology centered on the Evolution of Divine Love, Radical Personalism, the call to become an Everyday Prophet, and our shared Responsibility to Our Potential.
He is the author of the acclaimed books Inherent or Inherited?, Radical Personalism, and Evolution in Divine Love, with further works—including Irreversible Grace—forthcoming. His writings, translated into multiple languages, are appreciated by both scholars and practitioners for their depth, accessibility, and interdisciplinary reach across theology, philosophy, psychology, and the arts.
Initiated into monastic life at 19 and later accepting sannyasa, Swami Padmanabha has spent over two decades traveling internationally, offering lectures, retreats, and seminars in universities, ashrams, churches, and public forums. He is the founder of Tadatmya Learning Community and host of the The Free Radical Podcast, where he engages thinkers, artists, and practitioners in dialogue on devotion, nonduality, sacred activism, and the future of spiritual life.
Through scholarship, music, mentorship, and public dialogue, Swami Padmanabha invites seekers into a living exploration of divine love—honoring tradition while courageously evolving toward deeper relationality, authenticity, and spiritual maturity.

0:00 Acknowledging Sacred Space
4:11 What are the purposes of the descriptions of the hellish planets in the Bhagavatam. Are they meant to be taken literally, figuratively…
22:27 If one takes diksa in a line of pure masters and then looses connection the diksa guru, does the disciple remain connected to the whole parampara?
–Does an initiation we receive in one life carry into our next?
38:32 Are there nuances to how we are meant to love people?
56:55 Is it apasiddhantic to appreciate kirtans or mantras from other traditions—or is it just different? What constitutes if something is apasampradaya?
1:16:23 How can we approach AI so that it facilitates our spiritual rituals rather than taking the place of them?
