Although “istagosthi” and “satsang” are conceptually similar, “satsang” goes straight to the heart of the matter. Derived from the Sanskrit, “sat” means “real honesty,” and “sanga” refers to a special kind of attachment. Thus, satsang is about coming together to support each other’s commitment to truth and to nurture our attachment to becoming the most authentic versions of ourselves. It’s about how we can approach this journey in a healthy, joyful (not neurotic) and celebratory way. This process has no limit; it’s a progressive, dynamic unfolding.
Unlike a typical Question and Answer session, where certainty is often the goal and answers are something we can pocket and carry with us, satsang is not about finding definitive answers. Instead, it invites us into open exploration, allowing space for discovery rather than finality. And while the setting may appear as teacher and student, as you will witness when participating, we are all fellow explorers, sharing in this journey to discover and embody our truest selves.

Meet Swami Padmanabha—a refreshing blend of wisdom, warmth, and an unwavering commitment to open and honest connections. Born on November 15, 1980, into a nurturing and down-to-earth family, Swami’s formative years instilled in him beautiful values and ideals that paved the way for his extraordinary journey.
From a tender age, a profound curiosity about truth and life’s ultimate purpose stirred within Swami, guiding him down diverse paths. His insatiable intellect led him to delve into deep studies and explore various ascetic disciplines. Amidst this exploration, he encountered the transformative message of Hindu Devotional Vedanta, also known as bhakti, a spiritual revelation that would become the guiding force in his life.
Embarking on his monastic journey at the age of 19, Swami Padmanabha’s dedication to spiritual practices deepened over the years. At 28, he officially embraced the order of sannyasa which teaches how to navigate the world without becoming attached to it.
Swami Padmanabha’s versatility shines through as a captivating speaker, prolific author, accomplished musician, and both a committed mentor and dedicated student in spiritual communities. Engaging in academic circles, he integrates his spiritual pursuits with the interdisciplinary studies spanning theology, philosophy, psychology, and the arts. Notably, his commitment extends to social causes, where he spearheads campaigns of awareness through discussions, seminars, retreats, and impactful articles in social media.
Approachable and dedicated, Swami Padmanabha fosters open and honest relationships, inviting others to join him on the journey of becoming our fullest unique selves in the context of divine love. Embracing a path of continuous growth, he humbly shares insights as a source of inspiration for those seeking spiritual growth and understanding.

Join us each week in this sacred space as we deepen our commitment to truth and authenticity. Emphasizing exploration over certainty, these sessions are designed to cultivate not only what we think but how we think—how we conceive of ideas and even how we approach the act of conceiving itself. Together, we support one another’s journey toward genuine understanding and growth.
0:00 Introduction
4:24 How can we reconcile the fact that while Nityananda Prabhu and Mahaprabhu transcended social conventions to unite people in real ways, many contemporary practices seem to emphasize rules and regulations that foster duality?
22:47 How can we conceive of the term “transcendence” in a relevant way?
49:36 How can we move from a ‘spiritual bypassing’ mindset to a healthier, more grounded approach to spirituality?
